Country Manager

Dé VakantieDiscounter is one of the largest online travel agencies in the Benelux and does everything just a little differently. From our colourful office in Amsterdam, we work hard to continue growing nationally and internationally in the coming years. To help realise our ambitious goals, we are looking for Country Managers.
What will you be doing?
As a Country Manager, you are continuously developing and strengthening the assortment within your destination(s). You closely follow market trends, analyse competitors and identify new accommodations that fit our customer base and brand positioning. The commercial opportunities you uncover are translated into concrete actions to expand or optimise the product range, ensuring your portfolio remains current, attractive and distinctive.
You also build strong and sustainable relationships with our destination suppliers. You secure maximum availability and the right allotment, especially during peak periods, and negotiate the best commercial conditions, including exclusive and non-exclusive deals. You ensure that your destinations are optimally visible and remain competitive throughout the entire customer journey.
Finally, you are responsible for investment planning, performance optimisation and cross-departmental collaboration. You create destination-specific investment plans, including business cases with budgets, ROI calculations, risk analyses and promotional scenarios. You analyse performance based on conversion, complaint ratio and purchasing efficiency, replace underperformers and translate customer and team feedback into concrete improvements. You deliver clear and insightful reporting, work closely with internal stakeholders and proactively identify issues, opportunities and market movements to continuously improve the commercial performance of your destinations.
What do we ask of you?
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in tourism, hospitality or international business
2 Years experience in a commercially driven role within procurement, supply and/or product management
Demonstrated success in negotiations and commercial steering
Familiarity with business cases, ROI modelling and investment decision-making
Strong analytical skills, persuasive communication and the ability to justify complex decisions clearly
Willingness to travel for partner visits and international trade events
Fulltime available (39 hours)
Living max. 1 hour travel distance from Amsterdam
Fluent in English
