The perfect candidate

Are you passionate about data and eager to make an impact with our data platform? We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to help us scale our data platform, deliver high-quality data products, and enable machine learning in production. You will work on the Data Science Platform, add integrations to the data lake, and build data pipelines to prepare data for insights, analysis, and model training. Your keen eye for efficiency, privacy, and security will be invaluable in maintaining and expanding the existing infrastructure.

Our self-organizing Data Science Team handles a wide range of responsibilities, including data retrieval and insights, data quality control, supporting internal customers, Tableau dashboarding, data analysis and exploration for insights and discovery, developing machine learning-based data products, and running these on the Google Cloud Platform. As a vital member of our team, you will contribute to our collaborative work environment and help drive data innovation across the organization. 

What you'll do 

• Collaborate with the team to develop and execute the technological vision

• Engineer data pipelines by integrating external and internal data sources into our Data Lake

• Optimize data pipelines and processes for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency

• Assist with data model delivery, from data ingestion and cleaning to productizing

• Apply software engineering best practices such as SOLID principles, the Boy Scout Rule, Clean Code, and others 

Your skills and qualifications

• Strong curiosity for data and technology, with at least 2 years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role working with Python and its ecosystem
• Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, GCP, GBQ, NiFi /, Airflow, data pipelines, API integrations, engineering best practices, and clean code
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse)
• Familiarity with DevOps and MLOps best practices and a reasonable understanding of analytics techniques, such as linear regression and other GLMs, tree-based models, neural networks, clustering, and time-series models
• You enjoy working with other disciplines, like data science and business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and networking components (a plus)
